Very cold this morning. We used motorways and toll roads
today, boring but quicker and easier. Splendid views on the mountain roads but
a lot of steep climbs and I have no confidence in the car. One eye on the
scenery, another on the dashboard looking for flashing lights. We stopped at a
really weird services, Aire les Megaliths, where the lower car park was full of
standing stones and the higher one was adjacent to a field of beautiful alpine
cattle.
We arrived at the campsite about 4pm. It was difficult to
find and the only access is through the town, which has narrow and twisty
streets. It’s worth the effort – a lovely site alongside a small but fast
flowing mountain stream. The pitches are shaded and big. The town is
picturesque – we didn’t have time to explore but would like to return.
